We went through a time zone that I wasn't aware of and are now ahead of east coast time. Morning came early with the hint of much fall color as it became daylight. We dressed quickly while enjoying views of water and flashes of bright trees under gray skies and windy conditions.
Breakfast was tasty and we were seated by ourselves for the first time as this train has some smaller tables for that arrangement. It seemed strange not to meet someone while we ate. Next we headed for the "activity" car while our room was made up and we visited, used wireless and passed the time looking at beautiful scenery. We learned that some homes have stars on them showing the family inside is associated with the Acadians. Another subject I need to learn more about.
Mimosas were soon delivered to the observation car after we had moved there continuing our vacation celebration status. Everyone seems to split their time with scenery, gadgets, books, and chat, including us.
We are on schedule for an evening arrival and looking forward to our stay in Halifax, the next to last stop we have on the Canada portion of our trip. We had an early lunch and Laurie joined Carmen who was dining alone. That gave me a meal with my beer and the scenery. We rested and read in the afternoon and then I went back to the observation car and unexpectedly joined a local wine and cheese tasting.
The last few hours on the train were relaxing and enjoyable. We arrived right on schedule and after a few goodbyes walked the few blocks to our AirBnB just as dusk settled in. It was a bit challenging to get the key and lights working at first. The apartment is dark and takes a little adjustment but is very comfortable. We set out for some nearby Vietnamese food and returned to relax, blog, and read. Our host checked in to make sure all was well and it was.
Early but we don't miss breakfast
